what is Shipping Markup Calculator
A calculator that computes shipping markup fees with two variable inputs: item price and shipping rate. It calculates Shipping Cost (2.75%), VAT (12%), Valuation Fee (1%), adds handling fee of ₱5, and rounds the total UP to the nearest 5. The item price is NOT included in the final total - only the fees calculated from it.
How to use Shipping Markup Calculator?
Enter the Item Price
Input the original price of the item you are shipping into the 'Item Price' field. This is the base value used to calculate all the associated fees. Remember, the final total will only include the calculated fees, not this item price itself.
Enter the Shipping Rate
Input the base shipping cost or rate provided by the carrier into the 'Shipping Rate' field. This is the cost before any markups or additional fees are applied.
Review the Automatic Calculation
The calculator automatically computes all fees in real-time as you type. You will see a detailed breakdown including: Shipping Cost (2.75% of item price), VAT (12% on the sum of Shipping Cost and Shipping Rate), Valuation Fee (1% of item price), and a fixed Handling Fee of ₱5.
Get Your Final Markup Total
The tool sums all the calculated fees and then rounds the total UP to the nearest multiple of 5 (e.g., ₱112 becomes ₱115). This final, rounded amount is the total shipping markup fee you need to charge or pay on top of the original item price and shipping rate.
