How to use Grandmaster Elo & Performance Calculator?
Step 1: Select Calculation Mode
Choose between 'Elo Rating Change' to calculate rating adjustments after a game or tournament, or 'Tournament Performance Rating (TPR)' to estimate your performance level for an event.
Step 2: Input Your Data
For Elo Rating Change: Enter your current rating, your opponent's rating, the game result (Win=1, Draw=0.5, Loss=0), and select the appropriate FIDE K-factor (e.g., 10 for most rated games, 40 for new players). For TPR: Enter the ratings of all your opponents and your results against each (1, 0.5, or 0).
Step 3: Calculate & View Results
Click the 'Calculate' button. For Elo Change, view your new rating and the points gained/lost. For TPR, see your estimated performance rating for the tournament, which indicates the strength you played at.
Step 4: Analyze and Use Results
Use the calculated Elo change to track your rating progression. Use the TPR to gauge your tournament performance relative to your official rating, helpful for setting goals and analyzing consistency.
