How to use Curta Mechanical Calculator Simulator?
Set the Input Number
Use the sliders on the side of the calculator to set your desired number. Each slider controls a digit place (units, tens, hundreds, etc.). Slide the knobs up or down to select the digit from 0 to 9.
Select the Operation
Choose between addition (+), subtraction (-), or multiplication (x). For addition and subtraction, ensure the carriage (the upper part with result digits) is set to its starting position. For multiplication, you will use the crank multiple times.
Engage the Crank
Pull the main crank handle upwards and rotate it one full turn clockwise. This action performs the selected arithmetic operation. For multiplication, you will need to turn the crank a number of times equal to each digit of the multiplier, shifting the carriage between steps.
Read the Result
After performing the operation, read the result directly from the numbered dials on the carriage (the top section). The dials display the calculated result.
Reset the Calculator
To clear the input and result, reset all input sliders to '0' and return the carriage to its starting position using the carriage shift lever, readying the simulator for a new calculation.
